Youth Soccer Teams

Nearly every village in Malawi has a youth soccer team, and few of them are properly equipped, lacking, first and foremost, shoes, shin guards, and regulation soccer balls.  Research on the impact of soccer in several African countries clearly points to the sport’s improvement of collaborative skills and physical and mental health of young women and men. YPI is committed to ensuring the safety of players and improving their ability to train and compete.  It is also committed to helping found women’s teams where they are lacking and supporting their endeavors. YPI’s first effort in this area will assist a male, under-20 team in southern Malawi, the Chipoka Rangers.
